my 500 is not charging the battery up. I believe the battery is good, but am gonna change it just to be sure. But my guess would be either the magneto or the stater (hope I spelled em right). Anyone know which would be the most likely to go out?? or even the cheapest and easiest to replace?? I'm thinking the stater because #1 is electrical and #2 I know where it is on the bike!

There is a third option!!!! Buy a HONDA. Thats the cheapest fix Ultimate warrior might have a way to test the starter or the mag. But still i strongly sugest the honda.
| Take the family riding because some one has to get off and hook the winch up !!! |

I told mudslinger that you might try to take a sheet of paper doubled over a few times and adjust the stator down to the paper, slide it out and make sure the magnet and the coil are sanded clean of debri. This will ensure that you are firing good between the points. Also you can use a multimeter to check for your power (+) wire that it is not shorted to the chassis of the bike. I hope these old school tips can help you. See how much oil has possibly gotten on your stator.......GOOD LUCK..

cool, thanks for the info, I'm gonna have to try that. Both of the bikes, 2000 325 Magnum and 2001 500 HO do not charge the battery. They both setup for at least a year because I had to have some work done on them. So that is my thinking that maybe something got rusted, corroded, or just needs cleaning because its not making good contact. I'll try what you said and see what I come up with. Thanks again!
